different + mostly the same
first, hi!
welcome to the new site.
{or the old site in a new place.}
and, if you haven’t seen it yet, new names, too.
for the site.
and for me.
in late 2025, i did a couple ceremonies with my Elders in Ìsèse Làgbà, the tradition i’ve practiced for thirty years now.
and, at the time i’m writing this, i’ve spent most of the last year letting all of that quietly take root.
in Yorùbá culture + within Ìsèse Làgbà, names + naming practices are meaningful things.
it’s also a running joke / not-joke that everyone in the tradition has a million names.
partly because, when you go through big ceremonies, you get more names or new names.
so, over the years, you end up with lots of them.
the names my Elders gave me as part of these ceremonies, which replaced the name we’ve used together for the last 25+ years, are Òsunrójú + Fátúnmíbì.
Òsunrójú is pronounced something like aw-SHOON-ROH-juu.
and Fátúnmíbì is something like FAH-tuuhn-MEE-bee.
Òsunrójú is good for greetings + general salutations.
{salutations is a funny word.}
and i get it’ll take a second to get used to the new name after using the other one for a couple decades.
all good.
so, with all of that, and with hope anchors, it made sense to move the current site to a new url.
in the months ahead, there will be a new site.
and i’ll talk more about why i picked coral comb when i share the new site.
there’s a small pile of reasons.
at the top of the list is the relationship it has with coherence, which you’ve heard me talk about for a long long time.
so, some changes.
and, also, lots that’s still the same.
{i still love donuts.
and cats.
and Basquiat.}
like all of us, especially when we go through a big thing, i’m both changed + also still the same.
and i’m still teaching the things i’ve been teaching {at bigger + deeper octaves} + doing the work i’ve been doing {also at bigger + deeper octaves} + building new things for us.
i’m me.
you’re you.
we’re still doing what we’ve done for a lot of years.
some bits change.
and the essence is the same.
donuts.
thanks for reading.
forward in good ways.
